I mentioned in the previous post some of the problems that Age of Conan is having, and given all of that Funcom is dedicated to fixing the game and making it fun, but sometimes, you have to wonder where their priorities are:
*Items in tradepost now show stack-size.
Okay, item stacks not showing up correctly needs to be fixed.
*Resources Gathering: Cotton and Cottonwisp have been fixed.
Being able to actually get cotton is good for crafting.
*Kheshatta: Drop rate for Scorpion plate has been increased.
Not sure why they are screwing with the drop rate, but whatever.
*Fixed a grammatical error with Knarled Leather. It should now be named Gnarled Leather.
WTF. Seriously? I mean. Serious? This was what needed to be fixed? Come on. The entire patch notes are like 20 lines long, and this was one of the things listed.
Christ.

Are we playing the same game? Do they have a hidden version of the game with another miracle patch? Yes the game does run out of the box, and the servers didn’t roll over and die completely when everyone tried to register the first day of ‘release’. But when the game is down for over a day during a pre-release period that you had to pay to get into then it isn’t the best. Not only that, they had to remove the fricking bank/auction house NPC due to how easy it was to exploit him. Oh and lets not even talk about the level 80s running around the first day. And what about the fact the you have to revert the video settings repeatedly because the game can’t do 3.0 shader correctly?
I guess if you define it rigidly enough the game was smoothly launched, people could register for it and run it the first day, no problems. But how well it ran or how buggy it was is besides the point.
And anyone who says it was the smoothest does not remember Burning Crusade – which had over a million boxes sold in the first 3 days, ran like butter and had no problems. But I guess that’s an expansion. How about LOTRO then? It sold fairly well and I don’t remember any real problems besides lack of content when it was released.
AoC has been out a week and I have already had to download 3 (or was it 4) patches and I still have to constantly change my video card settings because they keep being reset. This isn’t even getting into things like class balance, PvP balance, PvP XP, lack of content etc.
Expect a impressions post on Age of Conan sometime in the next week.
